WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (August 7, 2025) – Chemung Canal Trust Company has joined an elite group of supporters of the 11th Annual IMRRC Cameron R. Argetsinger Award gala, presented by Sahlen’s, honoring racing legend Brian Redman on September 4 at the Corning (N.Y.) Museum of Glass.
The full-service community bank, headquartered in Elmira, New York, will sponsor the reception for the event, which is a fundraiser for the International Motor Racing Research Center, a 501(c)(3) research and archival library focused on the history of all types of racing and all race tracks worldwide.
Established in 1833, Chemung Canal Trust Company is the oldest locally owned and managed community bank in New York State and the 10th oldest bank in the United States.
“Chemung Canal is pleased to support racing in Schuyler County with this partnership,” said Scott T. Heffner, Senior Vice President and Director of Marketing. “We remain deeply committed to our role as a community leader and are thrilled to continue supporting the enduring legacy of racing in our region.”
“We at the IMRRC are privileged to welcome Chemung Canal Trust Company as a supporter of the 11th annual Argetsinger Award gala,” said IMRRC acting Executive Director Margaret Lawrence. “This is a valuable partnership for the IMRRC and we look forward to working with Chemung Canal in the future on many other community efforts.”
Redman will receive the prestigious Cameron R. Argetsinger Award for Outstanding Contributions to Motorsports.
The gala will be held in advance of the SVRA 2025 Mission Foods Watkins Glen Speedtour, September 5-7, at Watkins Glen International, and the Watkins Glen Grand Prix Festival on September 5.
It is open to the public, with tickets available for purchase at the IMRRC Store.
The award memorializes Cameron R. Argetsinger, founder and organizer of the first races at Watkins Glen more than 70 years ago. Previous recipients have included Chip Ganassi, Roger Penske, Mario Andretti, Richard Petty, the France Family, Bobby Rahal, Lyn St. James, Mike Helton, Richard Childress and Zak Brown.
