The winning ticket was Robert Hughes from Long Beach, New York. With the victory, Hughes can either take the car or a cash prize."

The International Motor Racing Research Center (IMRRC) announced today that it has appointed Mark Steigerwald to be the IMRRC’s next Executive Director, replacing Dan DeRusha, who stepped down in June 2021. John Saunders, Chair of the Governing Council, said, “We are very pleased to announce Mark’s hiring and return to the IMRRC to lead the Center as it continues its work collecting, preserving, and sharing the history of racing. Mark is uniquely positioned for this role having started his career at the IMRRC many years ago before moving on to advance his leadership experience and fundraising credentials.”

The International Motor Racing Research Center will help support New York State’s “Path Through History” weekend this Saturday, October 9th.

The International Motor Racing Research Center (IMRRC) will honor Lyn St. James with the Cameron R. Argetsinger Award for Outstanding Contributions to Motorsports on Sept. 11, 2021. After a hiatus in 2020, the ceremony returns to a new location at the Jack Daniel’s Club at Watkins Glen International during the Hilliard U.S. Vintage Grand Prix weekend. Motorsports broadcast journalist Bob Varsha will be emceeing the ceremony.

Hurley Haywood is undeniably one of the most decorated American sports car aces of all time, winning world-class races over four decades. In this blog post, Luis A. Martinez recounts one of the first and most important wins of Hurley's career - the Danville 300 at VIR in 1971 in a Porsche 914-6 he shared with Peter Gregg. That race was a springboard that led to many years of success.
