International Motor Racing Research Center Announces Chemung Canal Trust Company as Title Sponsor of the 12th Annual Cameron R. Argetsinger Award Gala

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (July 30, 2026)- The International Motor Racing Research Center (IMRRC) is proud to announce Chemung Canal Trust Company as the Title Sponsor of the 12th Annual Cameron R. Argetsinger Award Gala.

This year’s Cameron R. Argetsinger Award will honor global fashion icon and longtime motorsports enthusiast Tommy Hilfiger in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the sport of motor racing. The gala will take place on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York.

The evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the award presentation at 7:00 p.m. The annual gala celebrates individuals whose contributions have had a lasting impact on the world of motorsports while supporting the IMRRC’s mission to preserve and share the rich history of motor racing.

“We are pleased to support the International Motor Racing Research Center’s 12th Annual Cameron R. Argetsinger Award Gala,” said Jeffrey P. Kenefick, Regional President of Chemung Canal Trust Company. “The opportunity to team up with our neighbors in Watkins Glen and other community partners throughout Schuyler County and the Southern Tier is something special.”

“We at the IMRRC are privileged to welcome Chemung Canal Trust Company as the Title Sponsor of the 12th annual Argetsinger Award gala,” said IMRRC Executive Director Margaret Lawrence. “This is a valuable partnership for the IMRRC, and we look forward to working with Chemung Canal in the future on many other community efforts.”

Since its inception in 2014, the Cameron R. Argetsinger Award Gala has honored the legacy of Cameron R. Argetsinger, who ushered in the modern era of American road racing by organizing the first post-World War II Road race in Watkins Glen, New York, on October 2, 1948. The Center’s premier annual fundraising event brings together motorsports enthusiasts and supporters to celebrate the honoree while raising critical funds to advance the IMRRC’s mission to collect, preserve, and share the history of motor racing for future generations.

The 2026 Cameron R. Argetsinger Award Gala is open to the public, with a limited number of individual tickets and sponsorship tables available. Guests are encouraged to reserve their seats early, as the event sells out each year. Tickets can be purchased online at racingarchives.org or by calling the IMRRC at (607) 535-9044.
